stream restoration

Our goals for stream restoration include:

  • Restore stream function along 10 miles of river channel
  • Support efforts of DOW & USFS to enhance public streams
  • Reduce bank erosion & sedimentation by 80 percent
  • Establish new riparian vegetation along graded banks
  • Improve downstream water quality
  • Improve in-stream habitat for fish and invertebrates
  • Reduce degradation through cattle fencing & watering points
  • Protect Meanders from Impending Cutoff

We achive this through the following techniques:

  • Construct rock/ log vanes
  • Place rock spurs
  • Reduce channel width
  • Re-align channel
  • Create fish cover
  • Grade eroding banks
  • Place whole shrubs
  • Hand planting & seeding
  • Build riparian benches
