stream restoration

Our goals for stream restoration include:
- Restore stream function along 10 miles of river channel
- Support efforts of DOW & USFS to enhance public streams
- Reduce bank erosion & sedimentation by 80 percent
- Establish new riparian vegetation along graded banks
- Improve downstream water quality
- Improve in-stream habitat for fish and invertebrates
- Reduce degradation through cattle fencing & watering points
- Protect Meanders from Impending Cutoff
We achive this through the following techniques:
- Construct rock/ log vanes
- Place rock spurs
- Reduce channel width
- Re-align channel
- Create fish cover
- Grade eroding banks
- Place whole shrubs
- Hand planting & seeding
- Build riparian benches
